THE ARENAL & JÁVEA BEACHES
The Arenal beach, horse shoe shaped and located in the middle of the Jávea Bay, is the best known beach and the most visited by tourists and has something for everyone.
It has been consistently awarded the Blue Flag by the EU for its quality services and clear waters. This superb fine golden sandy beach stretches for half a mile and is surrounded by leafy palm trees. It offers services such as umbrellas, sun beds, showers, volleyball and small motor boat and paddle-boat hire. It is the perfect place to stroll, shop or have a meal by the sea.
Pirates and smugglers once took advantage of the hiding places afforded by the cliffs, caves, inlets and two rocky islands that make up Jávea’s attractive coastline.
The coast of Jávea stretches to a length of 25 kilometres with breathtaking vertical cliffs and tranquil waters that allow you to enjoy the Mediterranean Sea. The strict development policy of the local council has ensured that Jávea’s beaches have been kept mercifully free of the high-rise apartment blocks and hotels that dominate many other Spanish resorts.
